I start my new job tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'll give you more details later after I figure out more what I'm actually doing. For now I'll just describe my move to Nashville and how I'm settling in. The move itself was fairly stressful. The day we actually planned on leaving everything went horribly wrong. We made it about 10 miles outside of Pontiac then had to turn around and come home. The problem was transporting my furniture because our mode of transportation for my big bed was not working. So I had to leave my big (expensive) bed at my parents' house and bring my old twin bed that is so horribly uncomfortable I feel like I'm sleeping on a marble slab. I hate it......a lot. Originally I was hoping that my brother-in-law's parents could bring it when they come down to help him and my sister move, but now that might not work either so I have no clue when I'm going to get my nice comfortable beautiful bed back. But the rest of my stuff got here and we all got here safely the next day. My parents left after being here only a day and a half which was very unfortunate for them. I of course cried hysterically when they left. I had gotten used to seeing them every day, so it was sad seeing them leave.
However, what cheered me up was when Lindsey came to visit me. She was planning on staying a couple days but ended up staying for a whole week. We had tons of fun. She faithfully drove around with me while I tried to find a job and was even with me when I found out I got the job at UBS. We took a day to go back and visit Bryan, which turned out to be a surprisingly fun trip. It also made us feel a little old and sad. Of course when Lindsey left my heart was broken yet again because I wanted her to stay forever. I'm trying to convince her to move down here and I think I'm wearing her down.
Basically there have been some highs and lows. Saying good bye to my parents: low. Being with my sisters again: high. Trying to find a job: low. Finally getting a job: high. Lindsey coming to visit: very high. Lindsey leaving: very low. Sitting around all by myself this week: low. Starting work again tomorrow: high.
So that's my three weeks here in a nutshell. So far Stephie and I have been cohabitating quite nicely. Our cats are soon to be best friends and I hope to have pictures of our house up soon. I think in the past three weeks I've gone out more and hung out with more people than I have in the entire year and a half I was in Illinois, so hopefully that's a good sign of things to come. Meanwhile I am endeavoring to actually keep up with my blog this year, so stay tuned for more fun stories from me!
